Joke Disco Films is a brand new production company committed to making comedy, differently. Joke Disco is creating innovative comedy content for Film, TV and the Internet, with projects that cross the worlds of live-action, animation and puppetry.
The company was formed in 2007 by Raphael Warner & Joe Tucker. This creative partnership was formed at the National Film and Television School where the pair’s short film 'For the Love of God' went on to become the only UK film in official competition at the 2007 Cannes Film festival. The short animation featuring the star voices of Ian McKellen & Steve Coogan went on to great acclaim at festivals around the world including Sundance and Telluride, picking up a whole host of major awards along the way before being sold to a number of international broadcasters.
Previous to attending to the film School, Raphael worked in Investment Banking whilst Joe briefly worked as an actor and writer for Steve Coogan’s production company Baby Cow. Since leaving the NFTS they have earned feature film development deals with both BBC films and FilmFour. They are also the co-creators of a number of popular Internet comedy series for the likes of MySpace, BBC Comedy and MTV Europe.
Joe also directs Music Videos and Commercials for production company Colonel Blip whilst Raphael works as a freelance digital producer for a range of online and broadcast clients.
